The first order under this framework will see Vestas provide Fortum with 14 of its V126-3.6 turbines for an unspecified 50MW site.
In addition to the first confirmed order, Vestas said it would will set up a nacelles assembly plant in Nizhny Novgorod and a tower factory in Rostov, both of which are in the south west of the country.
It had signed a deal for a blade factory in Ulyanovsk in September.
The company announced its intention to set up a Russian manufacturing site to comply with the country’s strict local content laws, after being named the chosen supplier for the 1GW capacity won by Fortum in June.
Vestas will supply developer Fortum, which had won 1GW of capacity in a tender in June, with its 4MW platform for Russian projects — formalising a preferred supplier agreement announced after the auction.
