Anna Borg will assume her new position on 1 November, replacing the outgoing Stefan Dohler, who is leaving to become the new CEO of German energy company EWE.
Niek den Hollander, currently vice president of trading at Vattenfall, will take Borg’s place as senior vice president of business area markets from the same date.
Borg returned to Vattenfall last April after heading financial technology company Klarna’s online buying and payment solutions business in the Nordics for two years.
She had previously held various management positions at Vattenfall for 18 years, including leading the business development of the company’s market and trading operations.
Vattenfall CEO, Magnus Hall said: "Anna Borg has extensive management experience from the energy industry, both from the asset-heavy heat business, as well as trading, business and consumer sales and staff functions.
"She has the ability as CFO to lead many of Vattenfall's transformation programs."
Her replacement, Niek den Hollander has been the company’s head of trading and a member of the business area market’s management team since 2014.
Prior to that, he worked in several trading and energy management roles at Statkraft in Germany and the Netherlands for 12 years.
