German utility EWE, the city of Zurich utility (ewz), its partner Swiss-firm Fontavis, and a consortium of 18 municipal energy companies in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, gave the go-ahead for 32 wind turbines to be installed from 2018.
Senvion has confirmed the order for its 6.2M152 turbines with an added power mode to produce 6.3MW.
It will be the first project to use Senvion's turbine with the longer blades. The company's 6.2M126 turbines are installed at Wpd's 111MW Nordergunde project.
TWB II will go ahead without the need to enter Germany's new offshore auction, as the government had already approved the project under the previous FIT scheme.
Installation is due to begin in spring 2018, with commissioning expected by the end of 2019.
The Trianel Windpark Borkum I project, comprising 50 Adwen 5MW turbines was completed in 2014.
