Vestas wins 31MW deal in Germany

GERMANY: Vestas has been awarded a 31MW order from local developer Uhl Windkraft Projektierung to provide its V136-3.45MW turbine.

A total of nine V136MW turbines will be installed on Vestas' large diameter steel tower, with hub heights of 149 metres.

The turbines will be supplied to the Kohlenstrasse project in Baden-Wurttemberg, sourthern German, in the second half of 2017.

Vestas will also service the machines for 15 years after commissioning, which is expected by the end of the year.

This is Vestas' second reported order in Germany in 2017. In January, it won a 41MW order from EnBW for the Langenburg project, also in Baden-Wurttemberg.

Vestas was the second largest player in the German market in 2016, according to FA Wind, with a 24.9% market share, behind Enercon (40.5%).
