The 11.5MW Aunis project near France’s Atlantic coast will lift AW’s footprint in the country from just 39MW to over 50MW.
Nordex turbines, by contrast, account for over 1GW of France’s 11GW of installed wind capacity.
Developer Valorem has specified nine AW82/1500 turbines on 80-metre steel towers for the project.
"Demand [in France] for turbines with smaller rotors remains strong due to the long and complex approval procedures," said Patxi Landa, chief sales officer of the Nordex group.
