It is the largest wind farm in Wales, bigger than any in England, and is also Vattenfall’s largest onshore wind project.

Full power will be generated by 76 Siemens SWT-3.0-101 direct-drive turbines with a tip height of 145 metres.

"Wales’ big ambitions for renewables send a strong signal to the green energy sector," said Gunnar Groebler, Vattenfall’s head of business are wind.

"We hope to continue to build our renewables business alongside a growing and competitive Welsh energy supply chain."
