A total of 38 2.5MW turbines will be installed at two 47.5MW projects in Fujian, south-east China.

It is the first time state-owned developer Zhongmin has used Gamesa turbines.

Delivery at the Wangmushan and Matoushan projects will be in Q2 2017, with commissioning set for early 2018. Gamesa said the turbines are designed to withstand strong winds in the typhoon-affected area.

The Spanish firm said it had installed 4.2GW in China to date and was the country's leading foreign OEM in 2015.

The G114-2.5MW turbine was unveiled by Gamesa in 2013. It received its first order for a project in Sweden in 2014.

At the China Wind Power show in October 2015, Gamesa launched a longer-rotor version of the 2.5MW turbine. The G126 model was designed for low-wind site, particularly found in China.
