NTR acquires 64MW in Ireland and Scotland

UK/IRELAND: Infrastructure fund NTR has acquired 64MW of operational and under construction wind capacity in Scotland and Ireland.

Octopus Invesments has also acquired the Fraisthorpe project from BayWa

NTR has acquired the 35MW Airies project in Dumfries and Galloway in southwest Scotland, and a 17.5MW development in County Kerry, Ireland, both under construction.

It also bought the already operational 11.5MW Ardoch and Over Enoch project in East Renfrewshire, Scotland. It comprises five Siemens 2.3MW turbines and has been operational since 2014.

Velocita Energy Developments will manage Airies’ construction on NTR’s behalf, while Element Power, the vendor of the County Kerry project, will manage the construction and long-term asset management for NTR.

Airies will comprise 14 GE 2.85MW-103 turbines and is expected to be commissioned at the end of this year, while the County Kerry project will comprise seven Nordex N90 2.5MW turbines and is due to become operational in Q4 2017.

Fraisthorpe is located near Bridlington, north-east England and comprises nine Vestas V112-3.3 MW turbines.

BayWa will continue to provide full service, commercial and technical operations management, it said.
