By digitalising operations, firms have the potential to cut costs of servicing and maintenance.
Sentient Science chief digital officer Edward Wagner is joined by CEO of lubrication speciaist Rewitec, Stefan Bill, and Moventas projet manager Kari Huttenden to discuss the potential digitalisation has on O&M.
Bill hoped digitalisation could remove the life-time limits of wind projects by improving the predictive nature of servicing and knowing when parts need replacing.
Huttenden said there was still a lack of trust in the wind industry which is holding back development of components, something that digitalisation could help with.
"My wish would be that many of these wind companies would look at digitalisation, not just tactically but also as a way to raise their valuations," Wagner said.
"I think they become much more valuable when they see data and digitalisation not just as a way of moving O&M costs [down] but also as a way of transforming their businesses."
