Hamburg 2016: JDR Cables CEO David Currie

GERMANY: Windpower Monthly TV, in association with Sentient Science, talks to JDR Cables CEO David Currie about the firm's new horizontal lay-up machine.

"We procured the machine last year and it took eight months to install it. It's now operational and doing its first job as we speak," Currie said at the WindEnergy Hamburg event in Germany.

"The horizontal lay-up machine enables us to do both renewable and offshore oil and gas steel tube umbilicals.

"It's a very flexible production line we now have and it's more than doubled the capacity of the plant which is very exciting for us," Currie added.

Windpower Monthly TV is running throughout the WindEnergy Hamburg event in partnership with US-based firm Sentient Science — a material science-based technology company and a WindEurope board member.
