This compares with a profit of just €3 million for the same period in 2015.
The figures for the year’s second quarter showed particular improvement. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose from €27.4 million in Q2 2015 to €48.8 million this year.
LM attributed the rise in earnings to growing demand for its products across all global regions, and the opening of new factories in Brazil and India.
