E.on has made an unconditional order for 139 units for an undisclosed 278MW wind project. The deal includes a multi-year service package.
The turbine towers, nacelles and blades will be manufactured at Vestas' facilities in Colorado.
Delivery of the turbines is scheduled for the second quarter of 2017, with operations starting towards the end of the year.
On 9 August, Vestas announced it would supply 80 of its 2MW turbines to a US project being developed by EDF Renewable Energy.
This followed a 2GW conditional order from MidAmerican for a wind farm complex in Ohio.
