Nordex will supply 22 Acciona-designed AW125 3MW turbines to the Ventos da Bahia I project marking its first deal in the country since its merger with Acciona Windpower.
Acciona agreed the deal with EDF EN in principle in 2015, Nordex said, but it has now become a firm order with the newly merged manufacturer.
The turbines will be installed from the end of this summer on two different tower heights, the group said.
Nordex Group, with Acciona Windpower, has three production facilities in Brazil – two tower and one nacelle plant.
Last month, Nordex announced sales had increased 35% in the first half of 2016 following the merger. Acciona products contributed to 53% of the second quarter total, the group said.
