Vestas will supply 65 V117-3.45MW turbines to the Nicolas-Riou project in Québec and service them for ten years from the end of 2017. It will be the first time the turbines have been installed in Canada.
The 224.25MW Nicolas-Riou is being developed by EDF-EN Canada and its partners, Energie Eolienne Bas-Saint-Laurent and the Regie intermunicipale de l'energie Gaspesie-Iles-de-la-Madeleine.
"Our first implementation in the country with Vestas, the 2014 Blackspring Ridge project in Alberta, was marked by an exemplary team applying stringent safety standards as well as flexibility to meet the project's construction demands," said EDF-RE's North America CEO Tristan Grimbert.
The 300MW Blackspring Ridge project comprises 166 V100-1.8MW Vestas turbines.
