Gamesa will install the project infrastructure as well as the turbines, as part of the turnkey contract. It has also been contracted to operate the project for an undisclosed period. The turbines are expected to come online in September.
This is the fourth contract handed to Gamesa by Renew Power, which develops wind and solar projects in India. Renew Power is currently developing another project in the southwestern state of Karnataka using Gamesa turbines. The 40MW Lingsagur is also expected to come online this year, according to Windpower Intelligence.
The new 40MW project in Ron, Karnataka, will add to Gamesa's installations in India, which total around 2.6GW according to the manufacturer.
