Gamesa will manufacture 16 G97 2MW turbines for the Bainijing wind projects in Yunnan, southern China.

Each turbine will be adapted with an upgraded refrigeration system and electrical system to cope with low air density and lower temperatures.

Delivery is expected in September and the project is due online by the end of this year.

In January, Gamesa was contracted by Concord New Energy to supply turbines to the 48MW Cangfang project, also in Yunnan, for a site 3,400 metres above sea level. Turbine delivery to Cangfang is expected in May.

Senjitu II

Gamesa has also won the contract from Hebei Construction & Investment Group to supply 14 G97 turbines and 11 G90 2MW turbines to the 50MW final phase of the Senjitu II complex in Hebei province, northeast China.

The order is part of a 150MW supply agreement between Gamesa and Hebei Construction signed in September 2014.

It is the third and final installment of the agreement, after two previous 50MW orders placed in April 2015, and January 2016.

Senjitu II will ultimately comprise 64 G97 and 11 G90 2MW turbines when completed.
