Suzlon to supply 48.3MW in northwest

INDIA: The Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has awarded Suzlon a 48.3MW turbine order for a project in Rajasthan, northwest India.

Suzlon will supply 23 S97 2.1MW turbines to the Jaisalmer site, with the project expected online by March 2017.

Eleven of the turbines will be installed on 120-metre hybrid towers, with the remaining 12 turbines built on 90-metre traditional tubular towers.

Suzlon will also service the turbines for ten years.

According to Windpower Intelligence, the research and data division of Windpower Monthly, IOCL placed a 48.3MW order in 2011 with Suzlon for a project in Andhra Pradesh.

The Indian manufacturer also supplied 14 S82-1.5MW turbines to IOCL's Kutch project in Gujarat, northwest India, which was placed online in 2009.
