The Freasdail wind farm will comprise 11 MM82 2.05MW turbines to be delivered by the German manufacturer this autumn. First power from the project is expected by the end of 2016.
Freasdail is located on the Kintyre Peninsula on the west coast of Scotland. The turbines will be serviced by Senvion for five years.
This is the second UK contract between the two companies, following the deal in December 2014 for Senvion to supply the 28.7MW Penmanshiel project currently under construction in southern Scotland with the MM82 turbine.
In January 2016, Senvion also announced it won a 74MW contract from RES to supply two project in France. Once again, RES selected the MM82 turbine to be installed at the 52MW Sambres project, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France.
The second project in the deal will see Senvion supply the 22MW Bois de la Serre with its MM92 2MW turbine.
