WORLDWIDE: Recent project updates from Vietnam, Denmark, and the 600MW Gemini project under construction in the Netherlands.

Bac Lieu

Project online: The 83.2MW Bac Lieu phase 2 has been inaugurated in Vietnam, taking the project's total operational capacity to 99.2MW.

The second phase comprises 52 GE 1.6-82.5 turbines, installed at the project site in the Mekong delta.

The 16MW first phase came online in 2013. 31-Dec-15

 

Gemini

Grouting complete: UK offshore cement specialist FoundOcean has has successfully completed the grouting of Gemini's foundations on behalf of the main contractor, Van Oord.

Van Oord completed installation of the foundations in October, a month ahead of schedule.

The project will consist of 150 Siemens 4MW turbines.

The 600MW Gemini is under construction in the Dutch North Sea, 85km north of Groningen. It is due to be fully operational by 2017. 4-Jan-16

 

Kriegers Flak

Grid connection: Avantha Group company CG has been contracted by Danish networks operator Energinet.dk to supply power transformers and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) to Kriegers Flak.

Siemens, ABB and Royal SMIT have also picked up orders for components for use in the project's grid connection.

The 600MW project in the Baltic Sea is set to become Denmark's largest offshore wind farm. 12-Jan-16
