Windicator: India projects progress with over 500MW turbine orders

WORLDWIDE: Final-quarter turbine deals tend to be lower than other periods, and this year is no exception. The total at the time of going to press had reached just over half of what was recorded in the same time period during the Q1 this year - 3.8GW compared with 5.5GW.

This year mirrors last year's end of year turbine deals of 3.2GW.

While the UK still heads the list through large offshore deals — 869MW over four projects — this period also saw seven UK onshore projects agreeing turbines, showing healthy progress of 392MW onshore projects permitted before the government set about ending onshore growth.

India too is demonstrating growth in onshore projects, this time in line with government plans. Eight projects confirmed turbines, with Gamesa the winner of 350MW deals - continuing its lead as top supplier.
