Gamesa will supply 50 G97-2MW turbines the Nimbagallu project in Andhra Pradesh, southern India.

It is the first contract Gamesa has been awarded by Tata Power, which has a renewable energy portfolio of 1.38GW.

Gamesa will be responsible for the installation and operation of the project. Commissioning is expected in May 2017.

The project is separate from another 100MW project of the same name, being developed by Ostro Energy.

In November, Gamesa was awarded a 100MW contract by Ostro to supply the same turbine to another Nimbagallu project, due for completion in December 2016.

The Nimbagallu projects are named after the nearby village in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.
