Wind developers won 20-year PPAs totalling 548MW, spread across 20 projects of 25-30MW capacity. All are scheduled for connection in 2018.

Solar PV took 929MW, or two thirds, of the 1478MW allocated at the auction.

Of the 20 wind allocations, 18 went to projects in Bahia state, where EDPR won 140MW across its five-phase Ventos de Santa Beatriz complex.

The biggest deal outside Bahia was for 30MW in Maranhao.

Averaging BRL 203.46/MWh ($52.9/MWh), the power price was 4.5% down on the starting price, but higher than the August 2015 auction's closing average price of BRL 181.14/MWh.
