The trade show organised by Hamburg Messe and the conference organised by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) will be held together for the first time between 27-30 September 2016 at the Hamburg Messe fair site. Every other year from 2016, the two bodies will work together to hold a joint conference and exhibition in order to avoid a clash between two separate events.

Hamburg Messe CEO Bernd Aufderheide said: "Being able to attend the leading global industry fair and the European wind industry conference at the same location is an extremely attractive proposition to both our exhibitors and our visitors."

"Hamburg is a great location to host such a meeting after the 2015 annual gathering in Paris at EWEA 2015 this November," added Malgosia Bartoski, deputy CEO of EWEA.

The deal was first announced in April 2014, for EWEA and WindEnergy Hamburg to hold a joint event every two years – with Husum Wind, the German trade and technical exhibition, taking place in the intervening years in the northern town of Husum, Schleswig-Holstein.

EWEA will continue to hold its own independent conference and exhibition every second year as it has done previously. These events will be in other European cities.
