The deadline for the commercial bids and the final technical and industrial bids have been extended from 18 September to 30 October.
Five entities submitted bids to develop, design, finance, construct, operate and maintain the five projects in the main tender launched 2014: Acciona; EDF Energies Nouvelles with Alstom, QWEC of Qatar and FIPAR of Morocco; ACWA Power of Saudi Arabia with Gamesa; Nareva Holding of Morocco with Enel Green Power and Siemens; and Engie/International Power with Vestas.
The 850MW is spread over five sites located at Tiskrad (300MW), Midelt (150MW), Jbel Lahdid 200MW, Tangier II (100MW) and Boujdour (100MW).
For the first time bidders must include plans for local content and the projects will be built under a public-private partnership.
Gamesa and ACWA Power have already said they will build a blade factory if successful.
