EnBW Baltic 2
Opening ceremony: The 288MW EnBW Baltic 2 has been officially inaugurated at a ceremony in the port of Stralsund.
The first turbine was installed in August 2014 following a slight delay due to adverse weather conditions, and first power from the project was transmitted in April.
Installation of all 80 Siemens 3.6MW turbines was completed in June. 21-Sep-15
Eneco Lucthterduinen
Project completed: Eneco Luchterduinen has been officially opened.
Located 23 kilometres off the Dutch coast, the now-fully operational 129MW wind farm was completed within budget and delivered three months ahead of schedule, the developers said.
It is a joint venture between Eneco and Mitsubishi Corporation and uses 43 MHI-Vestas V112-3MW turbines.
Belgian vessels firm Van Oord's new installation jack-up vessel Aeolus completed its first commission by installing foundations and turbines at the project. 22-Sep-15
Humber Gateway
Transmission bidder: Energy regulator Ofgem has appointed the Balfour Beatty Equitix Consortium as the preferred bidder to own and operate Humber Gateway's offshore transmission assets.
The assets' estimated value is £173.3m (€235m). They are currently owned by project developer and owner E.on. Humber Gateway lies in the North Sea off Yorkshire, north-east England.
The consortium also owns the Gwynt y Mor and Thanet transmission licences under Ofgem's Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO) regime. 24-Sep-15
Dogger Bank
Met mast servicing: Inspections and scheduled maintenance work on the two Dogger Bank met masts has been completed.
The work was undertaken from the VOS Sympathy vessel, in the North Sea, off north-east England.
The met masts are gathering wind, wave, atmospheric and marine traffic data for Forewind's planned Dogger Bank Creyke Beck and Dogger Bank Teesside A & B projects.
The Forewind consortium comprises offshore developers RWE, SSE, Statkraft and Statoil. Forewind cancelled the Teesside C&D project in August allowing it to focus on its consented projects. 24-Sep-15
