Vogel had been head of the central Europe division at Vestas since June 2014.

De Baar has been appointed as the new president of central Europe and a group senior vice president. He will be based at Vestas' German office in Hamburg.

Previously de Baar was vice president and head of global customer accounts at Swedish telecoms company Ericsson. De Baar held that post since July 2014 but has been at Ericsson since 1996.

"With his solid commercial background and extensive international experience, Nils will continue to develop and strengthen our competitive position in this significant market, and we look forward to welcoming him onboard," Group chief sales officer Juan Araluce said.

It is the second executive departure from Vestas this year. In May, group senior vice president for communications and marketing Morten Albaek resigned to become CEO of investment firm Voluntas.
