Arkona Becken Südost
Host port: Sassnitz has been named as the port to handle the construction of E.on's Arkona Becken Südost.
The port has also host been earmarked as the 385MW project's future operations centre. Sassnitz is located on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen
Investment in the harbour infrastructure would be required, allowing major components to be preassembled on the wharf and loaded onto vessels for transportation to the project site.
E.on is planning Arkona Becken Südost for a site 35 kilometres off Rügen, but has yet to give the final go-ahead for the project. 22-Jun-15
Greater Gabbard
Crew transfer: Vessels firm CWind has won a six-month contract to provide crew transfer services to RWE Innogy and SSE's Greater Gabbard project.
A 19-metre catamaran will assist with operation and maintenance activities at the 504MW wind farm, which lies in the North Sea off Suffolk.
The vessel charter may be extended by an additional three months. 24-Jun-15
Burbo Bank Extension
Foundation installation: Van Oord has been contracted by Dong Energy to install the foundations for the Burbo Bank Extension.
It will install the project's 32 monopiles and transition pieces, supply and install the scour protection and provide the logistics between the fabrication ports in Germany, Denmark and the UK and the project site in the Irish Sea.
The installation works will be undertaken in summer 2016, from the Svanen heavy lift vessel.
The project is an extension of the 90MW Burbo Bank and will use 32 MHI-Vestas V164 8MW turbines. 24-Jun-15
Kentish Flats Extension
First turbine: The installation of the first of 15 MHI-Vestas V112 3.3MW turbines at the Kentish Flats Extension has been completed.
The work is being carried out from GeoSea's Neptune jack-up vessel.
