Vestas will deliver 12 V112-3.3MW turbines to the Cancellara site before the end of the year. Commissioning is expected in early 2016. As part of the deal, Vestas will maintain the turbines for ten years.
The turbine is designed for high-wind sites, the manufacturer said.
Eolica Cancellara is a subsidiary of Energreen Holding Italia Spa, a Luxembourg-based investment firm. It is the first time Energreen and Vestas have partnered on a project.
According to Vestas, it has installed 3.5GW of turbines in Italy. At the start of 2015, Vestas was awarded a 41.7MW order from Italian firm Alisea SRL, a subsidiary of BayWa.
The manufacturer was contracted to supply nine V126-3.3MW and six V110-2MW turbines to the Lacedonia project in Campania region, south-west Italy. Delivery is expected in the third quarter of 2015.
