Surveyors named: Grontmij and Pondera Consult are to undertake preparatory studies in advance of the call for tender for sites III and IV of the planned Borssele offshore wind farm. Sites III and IV have a combined 700MW capacity.

They will carry out draft environmental impact assessments and assessment studies for the sites, which lie in the Dutch North Sea.

The results will inform the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs' call for tenders planned for 2016.

In 2014, Grontmij and Pondera Consult undertook studies for sites I and II.

Up to 1.4GW of offshore wind capacity is planned for the Borssele zone as a whole. 7-May-15

Partnership deal: Caisse des Dépôts (CDC) has signed a partnership agreement with Eole-RES, to invest in the 496MW Saint Brieuc project.

The agreement will see the establishment of a new company, Avel Vor, comprising Eole-RES's 30% share in the project company, Ailes Marines.

CDC will acquire a 25% stake in Avel Vor, giving CDC a 7.5% share in Ailes Marines and Eole-RES 22.5%. The other 70% of Ailes Marines is held by Iberdrola.

Planned for a site in the English Channel, Saint Brieuc should come online from 2019 with turbines from new offshore JV Adwen. 8-May-15
