The Danish government is looking to award a concession contract to develop the project, which is forecast to be completed by the end of 2021.
A preliminary timetable for the tendering procedure has been published and requires prequalification documents to be submitted by 1 October. The deadline for submitting preliminary tenders is 5 April 2016.
The final tender specification will be published mid-June 2016. The deadline for the final tender is 8 November 2016.
An initial geological survey of the Kriegers Flak site has already taken place.
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is due to be conducted of the pre-investigation area, the substation, and the land cables.
The Danish Energy Agency will publish the complete EIA as part of a mandatory public hearing scheduled for November or December 2015.
Construction of the substations and cable-to-shore for Kriegers Flak is being provided by the Danish TSO, Energinet.dk.
The notice of tender states that installed capacity of Kriegers Flak is to be no less that 590 MW and no more than 610 MW. Transmission capacity will be split between two transformer platforms.
