Kentish Flats Extension

The first monopile foundations for Kentish Flats Extension were lifted on board the Osprey Carrier II on 25 April.

The barge was then towed to Vlissingen, where the first load out will take place.

Foundations installation at the project site off Kent is due to start in May, when GeoSea's Neptune will be deployed.

The 49.5MW project is an extension of Vattenfall's 90MW Kentish Flats. 28-Apr-15

HiDef Aerial Surveying Limited (HiDef) has secured a one-year contract to deliver high-resolution digital video aerial survey services to Lincs.

HiDef has been delivering ornithological and marine mammal survey services to Centrica at a number of sites and the Lincs contract is the latest phase in that partnership.

The Centrica-operated 270MW wind farm lies in the North Sea off eastern England. 28-Apr-15

West of Duddon Sands

West of Duddon Sands (WoDS) has exceeded expectations, recording a load factor (output as a percentage of the theoretical maximum) of 55.8% in Q1.

Completed in October 2014, the 389MW wind farm lies in the Irish Sea off Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.

It is a joint venture between ScottishPower and DONG Energy. 29-Apr-15

Amrumbank West

First power has been achieved at E.on's Amrumbank West.

The first of the 288MW project's Siemens 3.6MW turbines are delivering power via the 85-kilometre HelWin2 link, which comes ashore near Büsum, about 100 kilometres north-west of Hamburg, Germany.

All 80 of Amrumbank West's monopile foundations have also been installed. Under construction in the North Sea, the project is due for completion later this year. 29-Apr-15

EnBW Baltic 2

First power was delivered from EnBW Baltic 2 over the weekend of 25-26 April and eight of the 60 installed turbines are now grid connected and generating.

Further turbines are being brought successively online.

Once it is completed, the 288MW wind farm will comprise 80 Siemens SWT-3.6-120 turbines. 29-Apr-15
