Jan De Nul won two contracts with the developer to install export cables and the inter array cables at the project, eight kilometres off the UK's west coast.

The group will bury a 25-kilometre export cable, linking the project's substation to the shore.

The 32 MHI-Vestas V164-8MW turbines will also be connected together by Jan De Nul. The installation firm will begin work in spring 2016, using its Willem de Vlamingh vessel.

In March, Dong contracted Jan De Nul to install the export cables at its 580MW Race Bank project in the UK North Sea.

Dong awarded UK-based firm VolkaInfra the contract to install onshore cables for the Burbo Bank Extension in February. The project is expected to be online in 2017.
