Speaking to Windpower TV, EWEA chief executive Thomas Becker and RenewableUK CEO Maria McCaffery said that the event will take place in London in 2017.
"We will be trying to take the European offshore event that year to another level, together. So it will be a big bang. It will be a lot of forces put into that," said Becker.
McCaffery echoed that sentiment: "From the RenewableUK perspective, this is the fulfilment of a long-standing ambition. For this biennial event we have to plan quite a long time in advance, and we've been working on bringing it to London for quite some time. We are both committed to ensuring that it's going to be the biggest and best ever."
The two bodies have not yet agreed what will happen in 2019. While the event usually moves city every two years, Becker said that, considering the UK's leading position in offshore wind, it could remain in the city if that was deemed appropriate.
