Speaking to Windpower TV, Jorgensen said the certification process has advanced according to plan since the provisional type certificate was awarded in November.
"We are now in the final stages," he said. "We completed the power curve verification in September. That data is now being analysed by DNV GL. We are also responding to hopefully the last few questions from DNV GL and providing the last documentation, so we expect to receive the final type certificate within a few weeks."
Jorgensen said there were no outstanding safety issues relating to the turbine identified in the provisional type certification. While some technical challenges had been identified, he said that MHI Vestas has now responded to these.
