Wind projects have dominated this A-3 auction, by taking over 60% of the qualified capacity, which stands at 18.9GW and 521 projects.
President of regulator Empresa de Pesquisa Energetica (EPE), Mauricio Tolmaquim, said the latest showing by wind projects is evidence the sector will "continue to grow" in Brazil.
Successful projects in an A-3 auction are expected to come online within three years.
The northeastern states of Rio Grande do Norte, Ceara and Bahia have the greatest number of qualified wind projects. Rio Grande do Norte attracted the most bids with 3.1GW of capacity included in July's auction.
In November, the Brazil agreed to 31 new wind projects totalling 769MW in the country's latest reserve auction. That auction was aimed at providing energy security by creating a reserve capacity behind the expected growth in demand.
