OX2 hands Vestas 33MW deal

SWEDEN: Vestas has won a 33MW deal for 10 V126 3.3MW low wind turbines to go to a project in Sweden.

The Maevaara 2 project project is located in northern Sweden. The deal comes with a 15-year service contract.

According to Vestas the project will come online by the third quarter of 2016.

According to Windpower Intelligence, OX2 has around 500MW online in Sweden with projects including 90MW Glötesvålen project, using Vestas V90 turbines, in Jämtland County.

The deal includes Vestas' de-icing product, which heats the blades to remove reduce build-up.

Speaking about the deal, Paul Stormoen, CEO of OX2 Wind said: "The new V126-3.3 MW with de-icing is a good match for the Nordic environment and ensures that the site is utilised in an optimal way."
