BayWa hands Vestas UK deal

UK: Vestas has won a 29.7MW deal for its V112 3.3MW high wind turbines to go to a project in UK.

This is the first UK project to use Vestas' V112 3.3MW turbine

The Fraisthorpe project is located in Yorkshire, northern England. The deal comes with a 15-year service contract.

According to Vestas the project will come online by Q4 this year. It is Vestas' first UK deal for the V112 3.3MW.

BayWa has around 44MW in UK with projects, including the 18MW Kildrummy project in northern Scotland and the 16MW Cotton Farm in eastern England, according to Windpower Monthly's data division Windpower Intelligence,.

Speaking about the deal for the V112 3.3MW, Vestas president for northern Europe, Klaus Steen Mortensen, said: "This is a proof that the market and customers are moving towards more efficient turbine types. We consider this as a cornerstone for our future success and commitment to the UK wind market."
