Siemens commissions 576MW Helwin1

GERMANY: Siemens has handed over its first German North Sea grid connection, Helwin1, to operator Tennet.

Helwin1 connects the 260MW Meerwind Sud/Ost wind farm.

Tennet has now accepted the high-voltage direct current (HVDC) platform, following the completion of test runs by Siemens. The 576MW grid connection is now in commercial operation.

Siemens is now implementing three North Sea grid connection projects for Tennet. These are the 690MW Helwin2, 900MW Borwin3, and 864MW Sylwin1 transmission lines.
