Inox secures 172MW Tata order

INDIA: Inox Wind has won a contract from Tata Power Renewable Energy to supply the turbines for two wind projects in India with a combined capacity of 172MW.

Inox has manufacturered its 2MW turbine since 2009

Inox will install 27 of its 2MW turbines at the 54MW Rojmal project in Gujarat, and 59 of the same machine at the 118MW Dangri project in Rajasthan.

The Rojmal development is set to be completed by June, while Dangri is estimated to be completed in March 2016.

Inox will not only supply the turbines, but is also responsible for site acquisition, project development, installation and commissioning, as well as providing what it called "long-term" operations and maintenance of projects.

The Indian manufacturer's 2MW turbines are based on a design licensed from US-based AMSC. Inox has produced the machine since 2009, but the turbines to be installed on this project will be fitted with 100-metre rotors rather than the previous 93-metre rotor.
