The N117/3000 and N100/3300 have been certified for IEC II and IEC I conditions respectively. The N117/3000 was validated at hub heights of 91, 120, 141 metres, and the N100/3300 at 75, 85 and 100 metres.
The turbines received an earlier certification from DNV GL.
Nordex initially launched the Delta series at the 2013 EWEA conference in Viena and installed the first machine this summer.
The N117/3000 is claimed to offer on average 31% higher annual energy production compared with the N100/2500.
The design base for the platform is the Gamma series, comprising 2.5MW N80/N90/N100 models, and the 2.4MW N117/2400, which have been available since mid-2012.
Product features include an in-house developed lightweight NR58.5 rotor blade with carbon fibres incorporated into the load carrying main girders.
