The consortium will work with grid operator Tennet, which is responsible for the connection of new offshore wind projects in the Dutch North Sea.
The first project they will work on will be the connection for the first 700MW in the 1.2GW Borssele block. This will involve carrying out environmental impact assessments for the two offshore platforms and two 220kV power lines from each platform to the onshore grid connection.
The Dutch government announced the Borssele block in September, along with two other offshore areas that it will tender for the development of a total of 3.5GW of wind projects.
Tennet is overseeing the connection of all projects. The tendering for the development of the first two projects in the Borssele block is expected towards the end of 2015.
