The units will have tension capacities of up to 25 tonnes. They will be installed on the Cable Enterprise vessel, which is currently being upgraded.
Prysmian's vessel is due to begin a series of cable installations over the next two years.
Caley Ocean Systems' cable tensioner had been designed to allow wider parts of the cable to pass through it while still maintaining an even tension.
The Glasgow-based company said it has had a relationship with Prysmian for over 25 years. Prysmian ordered the tensioners through Powerlink Services, a UK-based subsidiary.
