Nordex announces sales increase for 2014

GERMANY: Nordex has announced a 20.5% increase in sales for the first nine months of 2014, partly driven by a strong performance in the Americas.

Overall, Nordex said it had reached sales of EUR 1.2 billion over the period. The biggest share came from the EUR 1 billion sold in EMEA, a rise of nearly 9%.

In terms of profit, Nordex said consolidated earnings have risen from EUR 31 million to EUR 59 million, while third quarter EBIT was at 5.1%. Globally, newly installed capacity had also risen by 15% to 1.07GW.

The 2014 sales figures are projected to be EUR 1.65 billion to EUR 1.75 billion, with EBIT around 4.5% to 5%.

A large proportion of the sales have come from the N117 2.3MW low wind platform, although sales have begun to increase on the later Delta turbine series.

Speaking about the results, Nordex CEO Jürgen Zeschky said: "As expected, we have further improved important key performance figures in the course of the year and assume continued good performance in the fourth quarter."
