Baltic 2 transition pieces set to sail

GERMANY: Ambau has completed the fabrication of 41 transition pieces for the EnBW Baltic 2 project.

The transition pieces are being loaded for transport

The components have now been loaded for shipment from the manufacturer's facilities at the port of Bremen, ready to be shipped to the project site. A total of 8,569 tonnes has been used in the manufacturing of the transition pieces.

The components will be used to connect the turbine towers with the jacket foundations, which have been produced by Bladt Industries.

As well as the 41 jackets, the project will feature 39 monopiles. Siemens has already started installing its 3.6MW turbines on the monopiles.

Developer EnBW originally said that it expects the 288MW project to come online before the end of the year.
