Huby is set to join Ocean Breeze as managing director from Make Consulting where he has been managing consultant since last year. Ocean Breeze, is owned by HypoVereinsbank, part of Italian bank UniCredit.
Huby became chief executive officer at Areva Wind and executive vice president of the wind unit at Areva Renewables in Hamburg, Germany, in May 2011.
He was replaced as CEO of Areva Wind in October 2013. At the time, Areva was unable to give a reason for his departure.
The company's wind division is now headed by Arnaud Bellanger, previously a vice president for purchasing in Areva's nuclear division.
A few months prior to Huby's exit, the firm's 2013 half-year report in July indicated a supplier had warned of possible defective components in Areva turbines.
Bard Offshore 1 has had a troubled existence since it was connected to the grid in 2013. The project in the German North Sea has suffered several outages since the beginning of 2014.
There have been problems with the seawater system and a fire on the BorWin1 transmission platform connecting the turbines to the grid.
Transmission operator Tennet reconnected the substation in September.
