The turbine is the first to be certified using the Spanish manufacturer's infused glass fibre blade, which it said could reduce the cost of energy.
Gamesa is targeting the Indian market with this turbine-blade combination. It said the package had already been sold there following the certification.
In July, Gamesa was handed contracts for the G97-2MW by three of the country's main power producers totalling 220MW for projects in India.
At the end of 2013 Gamesa had installed more than 1.1GW in turbine capacity in India and was the country's largest original equipment manufacturer.
