The German manufacturer is constructing 43 of the 2.35MW turbines at the 101MW Vents du Kempt project in Quebec.

The turbines are being installed on precast concrete towers with a 98-metre hub height, produced at Enercon's concrete tower plant in Matane, Quebec. The machine components were supplied by production plants in Europe.

Canadian wind developer Eolectric and private equity firm Fiera axium Infrastructure Canada are working together to develop the project.

The E-92 turbine has never been installed outside Europe before. It was unveiled in April 2012 and is designed for inland sites with lower wind speeds.

Vent du Kempt is part of a 2GW tender from the Canadian power supply company, Hydro Québec. Investment in the project is expected to be around CAD 300 million (US$268 million).
