Gamesa wins 18MW Turkish projects

TURKEY: Gamesa has been handed a contract by Ayres Elektrik Uretim to supply nine G97 2MW turbines to a project in western Turkey.

Gamesa will supply ten G97-2MW turbines to the Ovares project

The manufacturer will supply and deliver the turbines to the Ovares wind project in the Izmir province, western Turkey, at the start of 2015, with commissioning expected in the second quarter.

The agreement also includes a deal for Gamesa to provide two years operations and maintenance.

Ayres Elektrik Uretim is owned by Kardemir, a Turkish steel company. The Ovares project is the Ayres' second wind project.

Gamesa said it has supplied turbines with a capacity of 94MW in Turkey since 2010.
