The company will establish a new 1,800-square-metre storage, maintenance and mobilisation facility, combining work spaces, offices and warehouses.
Reef has previously operated out of Sunderland port, 20 miles south of Blyth.
The port of Blyth in Northumberland has a draft of nine metres and handles up to 1.5 million tonnes of cargo every year. It has been targeting work related to offshore wind developments as a key area of growth.
Reef Subsea is a cable installation firm that specialises in offshore wind. It is currently completing the array cabling for the Gwynt y Mor offshore wind development in the UK Irish Sea. It has previously worked on the Lincs, Thanet and Greater Gabbard offshore wind projects.
