Dogger Bank hearings set to start

UK: Dogger Bank developer Forewind is to launch a series of public hearings as part of the consent process for the second stage of the project.

The Dogger Bank zone is 165 kilometres from the Yorkshire coast

Forewind said that the first meetings will be held on 14 October as part of the six-month examination of the Teeside A&B 2.4GW project by the UK's consenting authority, the Planning Inspectorate.

At the hearings, the application can be discussed between Forewind - a joint venture between RWE, SSE, Statoil and Statkraft - and anyone with an interest in the development, including the local community.

However, unlike many projects, visual impact will not be something that will have to be taken into account as the site is located 165 kilometres from the coast in the North Sea.

The hearings will take place at Redcar & Cleveland House in Redcar, North Yorkshire.

Teesside A&B is the second phase of the 7.2GW Dogger Bank block. In August, the Planning Inspectorate completed its examination of the application for the fisrt 2.4GW phase, Creyke Beck.
